Sprinkler Tune Up Maintenance

What Does A Typical Sprinkler Tune-Up Include?

Sprinkler systems play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy and vibrant lawn. However, like any other system, they require regular maintenance to function optimally.
At The Sprinkler Repair Company, we offer comprehensive sprinkler tune-ups to ensure your system is in top shape.

Here's what a typical tune-up includes.

Adjusting Spray Patterns

Proper spray patterns are essential for efficient watering. During the tune-up, we adjust the spray patterns of each sprinkler head. This ensures that water covers all areas of your lawn evenly, preventing dry spots and waterlogged areas.

Checking for Leaks

Next, we check the entire system for leaks. Leaks can lead to water wastage and increased utility bills. They can also cause damage to your lawn and garden. Our team inspects pipes, valves, and connections to identify and fix any leaks promptly.

Inspection of Sprinkler Heads

Firstly, our technicians inspect all sprinkler heads. They check for any damage, clogs, or misalignments. If any issues are found, we clean or replace the heads as needed. Properly functioning sprinkler heads ensure even water distribution, which is vital for a lush lawn.

Cleaning and Adjusting Sprinkler Heads

Debris and dirt can clog sprinkler heads, affecting their performance. We clean all sprinkler heads during the tune-up. Additionally, we adjust them to ensure they’re at the correct height and angle. This step is crucial for achieving optimal water coverage.

Examining Valves and Zones

Valves and zones are critical components of your sprinkler system. Our technicians examine each valve to ensure they open and close properly. We also test each zone to confirm it’s working as intended. Properly functioning valves and zones prevent water wastage and ensure your lawn receives the right amount of water.

Testing the Irrigation Controller

The irrigation controller is the brain of your sprinkler system. We test the controller to ensure it’s functioning correctly. This includes checking the settings, programming, and battery backup. If necessary, we update the settings to match the current season and weather conditions.

Evaluating Rain Sensors

Rain sensors are designed to prevent watering during rainfall, conserving water and protecting your lawn. We evaluate the functionality of rain sensors during the tune-up. If they’re not working correctly, we repair or replace them to ensure efficient water usage.

Reviewing System Coverage

A thorough system coverage review ensures that every part of your lawn receives adequate water. We check for any areas that are under-watered or over-watered. If needed, we make adjustments to the sprinkler heads and zones to achieve balanced coverage.

Pressure Testing

Water pressure affects the performance of your sprinkler system. Too high or too low pressure can cause damage or inefficient watering. We test the water pressure and make necessary adjustments to ensure it’s within the recommended range. This helps extend the lifespan of your sprinkler system.

Providing a Detailed Report

Finally, we provide you with a detailed report of the tune-up. This report includes the findings, any repairs made, and recommendations for further maintenance. It helps you understand the condition of your sprinkler system and plan for any future needs.
